Funding for renewable heating in rented homes

Fifty-seven social landlords across Great Britain have been awarded a share of £5 million to get more renewable heating into the homes of tenants, Energy and Climate Change Minister Greg Barker has announced.

Sensitively-sited solar photovoltaic (PV) energy will be central to the growth of renewables in Britain, according to Energy and Climate Change Minister Greg Barker. Installed solar PV capacity has increased 25-fold since the end of 2010. The Government has recently published the solar PV energy roadmap setting out how it will work with businesses and industry “to build on this unprecedented growth”.
