The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has updated its list of providers of personal protective equipment (PPE), providing details of local contacts for providers who are not on the PPE portal.

Available at GOV.UK, the list gives email details for local authority and local resilience forums (LRFs) across England from Cornwall to Northumberland.

It explains that, for those not supplied through local authorities or LRFs, the majority of social and primary care providers can now get all of their Covid-19 PPE from the PPE portal.

This includes GPs, residential and domiciliary social care providers, pharmacies, dentists, orthodontists, optometrists, children’s care homes and secure homes, children’s residential special schools and community and residential drug and alcohol services.

However, each local authority or LRF will supply some or all of the following services: local authorities (including children and adult social care workers); mental health community care; personal assistants (commissioned by local authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and funded through personal health budgets); domestic violence refuges; rough sleeping services; and social and primary care providers who are on the PPE portal but may need to react to an increase in local Covid-19 cases or temporary difficulties accessing other distribution channels.

The Department for Education (DfE) is working with local authorities and LRFs to determine the demand for education and childcare settings.

Details of the PPE Portal, created for community healthcare providers to access Covid-19 related PPE stock, can be found at https://nhs-ppe.co.uk.
