The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has opened a consultation on the proposed Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) for the new Radiation (Emergency Preparedness and Public Information) Regulations 2019 (REPPIR).
The regulations transpose the emergency preparedness and response requirements Directive 2013/59/EURATOM, which lays down basic safety standards for protection against the dangers arising from exposure to ionising radiation.
This consultation is open for 8 weeks until 5 June 2019 and is being managed by the Office of Nuclear Regulation (ONR) on behalf of HSE.
The consultation document can be found on the ONR website. There are just eight questions to answer, concerning the usefulness and clarity of the proposed ACOP, views on specific regulations and any other issues.
And preferred method for receiving comments on the proposed ACOP is by email: email@example.com.
