From January 2021, companies will need to submit information to a new database - Substances of Concern In articles, as such or in complex objects (Products) (SCIP).
These are articles that contain Candidate List substances (substances of very high concern (SVHC)).
This new database will allow companies to meet the obligations under the Waste Framework Directive which requires suppliers of articles containing a on the Candidate List need to provide information on their safe use to ECHA.
A prototype of the database is planned for early 2020, and by July 2020 Member States will have had to transpose the legal requirements into national law.
