£20 million of additional funding is being made available for the Traineeships programme. The programme, which began in August, aims to help 16-23 year olds prepare for and secure Apprenticeships or other sustainable employment.
Traineeships last a maximum of six months and provide:
training in skills such as preparing for interviews and writing CVs
support to improve English and maths skills
a work experience placement (lasting between six weeks and five months)
training from providers who are rated “outstanding” or “good” by Ofsted.
