Including a trade assistant for services and investment, the European Commission has now made its Access2Markets portal freely available.

The trade assistant provides information on the requirements that EU companies must comply with in order to export their services outside the EU. Information is currently available on providing services in the legal and maritime transport sectors in Canada and the UK.

More sectors and countries will be added gradually.

Available at https://trade.ec.europa.eu/access-to-markets/en/home, Access2Markets is an interactive, free online service where EU companies can find information on import conditions for the EU Market, on export conditions for over 130 non-EU countries as well as information on intra-EU trade.

“Access2Markets allows you to obtain information you need when you trade with third countries, such as on tariffs, taxes, procedures, formalities and requirements, rules of origin, export measures, statistics, trade barriers and much more,” the Commission said. “It also allows you to access key information needed for trade in services as well as for investment and procurement in third countries.”

As well as information about EU trade agreements, the Portal includes details of EU sanctions against Russia following the invasion of Ukraine. It also explains the Combined Nomenclature (CN), the Harmonised System (HS) and the TARIC (Integrated Tariff of the European Communities) code.
