The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has proposed 74 potentially harmful substances for the Community rolling action plan (CoRAP).
EU Member States will assess the substances concerned between 2020 and 2022 in terms of their impact on human health and the environment. These assessments will inform whether the substances should be included in the Candidate List of the REACH Regulation and thus be classified as of very high concern.
Member States are due to start evaluations in March and to study the first 14 substances by 2020. The 60 further reviews are scheduled for 2021 and 2022.
The chemicals proposed by ECHA include ingredients of cosmetics, paints or adhesives.
Manufacturers using CoRAP list substances scheduled to be evaluated for 2020 are invited to update information on the use of substances in their registration dossiers by March 2020 at the latest.
