Construction employers with experience of finance, human resources, communications or IT/digital are being sought by the Department for Education to become trustees of the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).
As well as filling these two positions, it is looking for one independent trustee with knowledge and understanding of training provision.
CITB Board Trustees are responsible for the governance, strategic direction and monitoring of business performance and are expected to have the ability to offer and communicate a progressive view of the industry’s future skills and training needs.
The vacancies have arisen as three current trustees are completing their four-year terms of office.
Board Chairman Peter Lauener said: “It’s vital that people with a variety of backgrounds are represented on the Board to ensure we have the right skills to move the vision 2020 programme forward to deliver an organisation that is accountable, representative and responsive to industry’s needs.”
The CITB Board is accountable to the Secretary of State for Education, the Charity Commission and CITB’s beneficiaries. The CITB trustees are required to operate with a high level of transparency and accountability.
Candidates from under-represented groups are encouraged to apply for these positions. Anyone interested can read more about these positions and apply here.
The closing date is 20 December 2018.
