The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) has announced an update of its eChemPortal with improved search functionality on chemical information.

eChemPortal is an online tool offering comprehensive information of regulatory relevance on industrial chemicals, pesticides and biocides. Users are able to simultaneously search for data contained in multiple data sources via searches by chemical identity, by certain properties or effects. Governments and all stakeholders can use this tool for finding information on hazard identification to support health and environment decisions concerning chemicals.

Version 3.0 includes a modernisation of the user interface architecture, a refreshed design, improved navigation and the alignment of eChemPortal to OECD Harmonised Template (OHT) 2018. The user experience is now more fluid and the user can search for chemical information more efficiently.

New features include quick search functionality from the homepage, filtering and sorting on results tables, and a preliminary indication of the number of results expected in a search by chemical properties. The searches also have been harmonised to be more intuitive for the user.

Free webinars and training events will be organised upon request by emailing echemportal@oecd.org.

eChemPortal is available at www.echemportal.org/echemportal.
