The Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, (BEIS) Alok Sharma, has written a letter to the chemicals sector about actions they need to take from 1 January 2021.

70% of drivers in the UK denied access to loos

A survey by a trade union has found that 70% of professional drivers in the UK are routinely being denied access to toilets during working hours and that the initial Covid lockdown earlier this year made the situation even worse.

NLW will rise to £8.91 in April 2021

The Government has, in its response to the Low Pay Commission’s recommendations, confirmed the new increased rates of National Living Wage (NLW) and National Minimum Wage (NMW). The NLW will increase by 2.2% from £8.72 to £8.91 and will be extended to 23 and 24-year-olds for the first time. These new rates will be effective from 1 April 2021.
