Cash for customs intermediaries and traders

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is encouraging customs intermediaries and traders who make their own declarations to take advantage of newly-available funding. They can apply for £50 million of new funding, first announced in June 2020, to increase their capacity to make declarations ahead of 2021, when the transition period ends.

Self-isolation period increased to 10 days

Employers will once again have to re-think their working arrangements due to the increase in the current self-isolation period across the UK. The respective Governments of the UK nations have confirmed this morning that the self-isolation period that applies to those who have symptoms of, or test positive for, coronavirus is now 10 days instead of 7 days.

New PHE guidance on wearing masks in GP practices

New Public Health England (PHE) guidance has said GPs, all clinical and non-clinical staff as well as patients should wear a face mask in practices if a local assessment concludes that it is necessary.
