Trainees could be given the list of questions contained in Handout 7: The Mental Capacity Act 2005 to think about in advance of the session. They should then complete the activity at the end of the session(s).
Trainers should become familiar with the Act’s Code of Practice and if possible the Training Pack published by the Department of Health. The case examples provide in both the Code of Practice and the training materials should be particularly useful for discussion purposes.
