  • the risk factors in manual handling

  • the basis of assessing manual handling risks.

Explain the approach to manual handling risks required by the MHOR

The approach to manual handling risks as required by the MHOR is as follows.

  1. Evaluation of the issue to see if a manual handling risk exists.

  2. Avoidance of manual handling.

  3. Assessment of resultant risks.

  4. Reducing the risk of injury by taking an ergonomic approach.

  5. Information, instruction and training.
