Stress is an emotive subject and some managers do not accept that it is a genuine problem in the workplace. They may even believe that what they call a strong management style, which others might see as bullying, is the only way to get the best from their people. They may believe that if an employee cannot cope then they should leave and make room for someone who can. They may therefore feel that this course is an implied criticism of their management competency.
