The main purpose of the case studies is to raise managers’ awareness of the discipline issues surrounding internet use.
If an organisation’s internet policy is supplied, participants should determine whether it deals satisfactorily with the issues raised in their allocated case study. If so, they can decide on the disciplinary measures to be taken. If the policy does not provide sufficient guidance, participants should decide how they would proceed with the case and on what grounds. They should also consider whether changes to the policy should be recommended.
