The subjective nature of judgments made by individuals has led to the search for more objective ways of making decisions about matters like people’s suitability for particular types of job. Psychometric instruments (a more appropriate term than “test”, with its implications of success or failure) certainly can lay claim to such objectivity, though they do also have their dangers.
