  • the potential effects of hazardous substances

  • the likely routes of entry into the body.

Consider examples of hazardous substances

Ask the group to think of examples of hazardous substances which they use at home or have come across before. Explain that the range of hazardous substances is not limited to the obvious, but includes many everyday items we often take for granted, such as gloss paint, flour and even water.
