• A worker will be protected from dismissal or victimisation if they follow the whistleblowing procedure when making a disclosure.

  • Protection from dismissal or victimisation is available for disclosures concerning financial irregularities, criminal offences, law breaking, miscarriages of justice, mistreatment of patientspupils (where applicable), health and safety risks, environmental damage or risks and any attempted concealment of any of these offences (whether they have occurred or are likely to occur).

  • Any disclosure by a worker must be dealt with in the strictest confidence if the worker so wishes.
