Have an established fair disciplinary procedure in place, which conforms with the recommendations contained in the Acas Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures.
Ensure that every employee’s written statement of particulars refers to details of the employer’s disciplinary rules and procedures (eg in the staff handbook).
Provide a non-exhaustive list of examples of behaviour which will be regarded as gross misconduct.
Adhere to the Acas Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures when carrying out disciplinary procedures.
