Summary

Strategic environmental assessment (SEA) looks to ensure that environmental and sustainability impacts are integrated into government policy, planning and programme making at a high-level. SEA links to environmental impact assessment, or EIA, which provides detail at a project level. It is often included within the process of Sustainability Assessment.
