• Ensure all managers are aware of the organisation’sNHS policy and procedures on the payment of statutory maternity, paternity and adoption pay.

  • In addition, ensure employees understand their rights to receive these statutory payments.

  • Check that the employee concerned qualifies for the statutory payments.

  • If an employee does not qualify for the payments, ensure that the necessary forms for maternity, paternity and adoption are completed so that the employee can claim relevant state benefits.

  • Ensure employees provide adequate and timely notice of their intention to take statutory leave.
