Generally, all vehicles except urban buses with standing passengers must be fitted with approved seat belt anchorages and seat belts. When carrying children, it is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that they use a seat belt or child restraint appropriate to their age and size. Adult passengers are responsible for complying with the law themselves, but the driver must inform them of the requirement to wear a seat belt.
