Ensuring the safety and welfare of children involves an organisation putting the policies, procedures and training in place to ensure that staff can spot potential abuse and take the appropriate action. In addition, organisations such as schools and early years services must ensure that they have safe recruitment processes in place to ensure that inappropriate people do not have access to children and processes in place to deal with allegations against staff and volunteers.
Providers have an obligation to inform Ofsted immediately if there is an allegation of abuse against anyone working or living on the premises of the provision.
