Policy Statement

The aim of this policy is to ensure that new staff are:

  1. aware of the school’s policies and procedures

  2. aware of whom to approach for advice and information

  3. able to access the resources they need

  4. confident in taking up their new appointment.

The stages of induction include:

  1. immediately following appointment

  2. prior to beginning work

  3. during the first half-term

  4. during the first year.

Procedure

  1. Immediately Following Appointment

    Once a new member of staff is appointed they should:

    1. receive confirmation by letter from _________

    2. be given the name and contact number of their induction mentor

    3. receive a copy of this document

    4. have an agreed date and time for their induction day
