In general terms, a risk assessment is a process of evaluating what can affect the health and safety of employees at work. In broad terms, a risk assessment looks at what could go wrong and what is needed to stop it from going wrong and assesses the effectiveness of any control measures in place. Recommendations for extra control measures can then be made on the basis that they are “reasonably practicable”.
