To be eligible for a statutory redundancy payment (SRP) in a lay-off or short-time working situation:
the employee must give notice in writing to their employer indicating the intention to claim a redundancy payment
this notice must be given within four weeks of the last day of lay-off or short-time working
the notice of intention to claim must be served properly
the earliest date upon which it can be served is the last day of the final week of lay-off or short-time upon which the employee is relying.
