Rights

  • An employee with two or more years’ continuous service and who is dismissed by reason of redundancy is entitled to a statutory redundancy payment.

  • An employee with two or more years’ continuous service and who is dismissed by reason of redundancy is entitled to a statutory redundancy payment. NHS employees who are members of the NHS Pension Scheme may be entitled to additional benefits.

  • Employees with a minimum of two years' service and who are dismissed by reason of redundancy are able to present a complaint of unfair dismissal to an employment tribunal.

  • Employees have the right to be consulted individually about any impending redundancy.
