Access is a critical aspect of healthcare building design. Entrances and exits need to balance ease of access for patients and users of the building with the obvious need to control access and ensure safety and adequate levels of security.

Inclusive design principles should be considered in all aspects of the development of a new practice building or in the conversion or upgrading of an existing building.
