Parental engagement is one of the key factors that enables schools to secure higher standards of pupil achievement. It can also have an extremely positive effect on associated areas of school improvement such as attendance and behaviour. Research evidence shows that the influence of parents is much greater than the influence of the school in raising standards – especially for pupils of primary school age.
