Monitoring and targeting (M&T) is a method of analysing and reporting on energy performance which helps avoid costs due to faults or changes in behaviour and can drive continual improvements.
This topic shows how to forecast expected energy consumption, analyse usage, set tough but fair targets, routinely assess energy performance, diagnose any significant variations and demonstrate energy savings from improvement activities.
M&T is usually required to demonstrate performance for legal requirements such as, for example, Climate Change Agreements and the EU Emissions Trading Scheme.
