Summary

Each child in a group provision must be assigned a key person. The key person has special responsibilities for working with a small number of children, giving them the reassurance to feel safe and cared for, and building relationships with their parents.

Employers' Duties

Early years providers are required to:

  • assign each child a key person

  • provide the name and role of each child’s key person to parents and/or carers.
