Intermediate Residential Care
The care home manager responsible for intermediate treatment carried out in the home should:
ensure that there is dedicated accommodation for the intermediate care service users and that the home’s long-term service users understand and respect this arrangement
ensure that the specialised facilities and equipment for therapies, treatment and the promotion of activities of daily living and mobility are available for them
ensure that appropriately qualified, experienced and supervised staff are employed or are available through sessional engagement or secondment, or similar arrangements in sufficient numbers to meet the special demands
