The purpose of these self-audit tools is to enable service providers to check that they are meeting all the applicable requirements of the Regulated Services (Service Providers and Responsible Individuals) (Wales) Regulations 2017 and related statutory guidance, which Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) inspectors will be referring to in their inspection of services. The regulations and guidance are formed under the primary legislation of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016. Because of the Act, all social care services are being required to re-register with CIW over the course of 2018. The new regulations have been in force since April 2018.
