Regulators in all UK countries have adjusted their regulatory approaches to accommodate their respective countries’ strategies to address the Covid-19 outbreak.
CQC is revising its approach to regulation with a new strategy launched in spring 2021 with changes being made to its assessment approach and the awarding of ratings. KLOEs will still be used as the basic tool for evidence gathering. CQC has announced changes to its on-site inspection regime with effect from August 2021, effectively moving to a more flexible, risk-based, targeted approach in line with the new strategy.
