The self-assessment or self-audit tools are designed to help care providers, managers, staff and people who use care services to form judgments about how well their service is achieving the national health and social care standards, My Support, My Life, published in June 2017 and being adopted by the Care Inspectorate in their new inspection regime from April 2018, in conjunction with a set of quality frameworks that are being developed for different services (Version 1 of a Quality Framework for Older People was published in July 2018). The self-audits might be seen as complementary to the quality frameworks, which also encourage self-assessment.
