Under the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016, all existing services are required to re-register with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) so that they can show compliance with a new set of regulations and standards, the Regulated Services (Service Providers and Responsible Individuals) (Wales) Regulations 2017, which came into force in April 2018.
