Independent schools are required to make certain information available to parents. As a minimum, they must provide details of who owns and runs the school, a statement of the school’s ethos, a summary of its child protection policy, an annual written report on the progress of each pupil, and boarding information (where applicable).

Most schools choose to provide additional information too, such as lists of holiday dates, induction programmes and the attendance policy. This can be very useful to parents when they are considering a school for their child.
