Infection control is a critical element in the running and management of any care home, as serious infections can be spread if inadequate controls are in place.
The home is acutely aware that infectious diseases can spread easily among residents in a care home — particularly in the winter — with the commonest outbreaks being flu, gastroenteritis, diarrhoea and vomiting.
