Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the early years is the introduction of “cause and effect” toys, supporting children to understand how basic technology works and can be used within their everyday lives. This progresses to using remote controlled and programmable toys and computers as well as using technology such as cameras.

ICT needs to be planned and creatively used throughout the curriculum and across all seven areas of learning. Policies, procedures, permission forms and agreements need to be developed to ensure the safety of staff, children and families.
