Having effective infection prevention and control policies and procedures in place is of paramount importance in ensuring the safety of both service users and staff from infectious organisms such as Clostridium difficile. This policy shows how the care service prevents the spread of bacterial infections among service users and staff.
Infection prevention and control measures are reflected in the following regulations under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
Regulation 12: Safe Care and Treatment, includes a requirement for service providers to assess the risk of, and prevent, detect and control the spread of, infections.
