The Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017 (the Regulations) require relevant private and voluntary sector employers to publish, on an annual basis, six “pay metrics”. Similar requirements apply to relevant public sector employers in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties and Public Authorities) Regulations 2017. This information must be accompanied by a written statement which confirms that the information is accurate and which is signed by an “appropriate person” (note, this requirement does not apply to the public sector, although such employers may choose to do so).

The information must be published on the employer’s website in a manner that is accessible to all its employees and to the public and must remain there for at least three years beginning with the date of publication. It must also be submitted to a designated Government website.
