Local and national companies do offer goods, services and occasionally cash, to support a variety of charities, non-profit making organisations and local good causes.

Such organisations do not usually fund day-to-day running expenses. They prefer to sponsor something specific. It is usually cost-effective to them to provide goods, products, services or people rather than cash. They will be looking for the “quid pro quo”, so you should be specific about:

  • what the provision wants and why

  • what you can offer the sponsor in return for their support (their name on the equipment donated/purchased; acknowledgement in newsletters; issuing of joint press releases, etc).
