Prior to September 2017, we were able to offer children aged three and four 15 hours a week (570 hours a year) “free” childcare, funded through the Nursery Education Grant (subject to available places). From September 2017, we are able to offer 30 hours a week (1140 hours a year) free childcare to householders where both parents work. To see the full criteria of those parents/carers who are eligible, please see the government website 30 hours free childcare.

Parents need to apply for the 30 hours free entitlement on the government’s Childcare Choices website. If you are eligible, you will be given an 11 digit eligibility code which you need to give to us together with your National Insurance (NI) number and child’s date of birth. We will need to check the eligibility code with the local authority before they can confirm the extended hours.
