In a care home setting, effective systems of heating, lighting and ventilation are critical to the wellbeing of residents. Care homes should provide a warm and comfortable environment. Residents should have control of the heating and lighting in their own rooms so they can adjust it to their needs.
Energy usage in domiciliary care will generally relate to the offices where an agency is based. Community providers are not responsible for the energy use of service users. However, care staff may be involved in giving support to ensure that service users are able to keep their homes warm, especially in the winter months.
