Familiarise yourself with where the light switches are

Tungsten filament lamps running more than four hours per day (these will benefit from being replaced by energy-saving alternatives)

Do not leave empty areas lit unnecessarily

Excessive light levels for the type of work being done

Do not use artificial lighting in areas with sufficient daylight

Poor labelling of switches controlling shared workspace

Outside lights on fixed time switch or manual control being on during the day

Dirty or discoloured diffusers and shades
