Domiciliary Care Services for Children and Families: In-depth

Summary

Domiciliary care providers can be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) (and similarly in Wales and Scotland with the respective Care Inspectorates) to offer personal care and support to children of all ages as well as adults. To do this they will register with CQC their services in any one or all of three service bands for children:

• 0–3 years

• 4–12 years

• 13–18 years.

Service users are treated as adults from 19 years onwards.
