• Give employees a copy of the organisation’s disciplinary rules and disciplinary procedure along with the written statement of terms and conditions no later than two months after the start of their employment.

  • Ensure that a copy of the disciplinary procedure is accessible in the staff handbook and/or on the organisation’s intranet.

  • Clarify whether the disciplinary procedure is contractual or non-contractual (non-contractual is recommended as this gives management more flexibility).

  • Always deal with disciplinary matters promptly.
