The Equality Act 2010 protects disabled children and adults from discrimination. It also reinforces the right of children with disabilities to access mainstream services such as schools and early years services.

Premises must, therefore, be suitable for use by children with physical, sensory and cognitive impairments, as well as for disabled employees, parents, carers and visitors. Equal access must also be ensured to the curriculum, transport, information and general opportunities.
