In the UK customs export entries are submitted electronically via the National Export Systems (NES) into the customs computer CHIEF (Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight).
Customs export entries are legal declarations and incorrect statements may be subject to financial civil penalties imposed on the trader by HM Revenue & Customs.
