Consent to Care and Treatment Policy

Policy Statement

This policy is written to achieve compliance with Regulation 11, “Need for Consent” of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 (in force from April 2015), and the accompanying guidance issued by the Care Quality Commission.

Regulation 11 expresses a requirement on all care providers to seek the consent of service users in order to carry out any proposed care and treatment, and to follow specific procedures in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 where people are unable to give their informed consent.
